My Favorite Things – Hollywood Studios

In this second installment of “My Favorite Things”, I will be sharing my favorite dining and attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  I would like to point out that Rope Drop has never been a favorite thing for me.  Without fastpasses, though, I may have to force myself to get up a little earlier than usual.  From what I have gathered, it seems that if you head directly to Rockin’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror at park opening then wait until later in the afternoon to get in line for the other popular rides (i.e. Slinky Dog, Smugglers Run) you will have less of a wait time for all of them.  So, with that being said… on with my favorites!

Sunset Boulevard hosts two of the most popular and iconic rides at Hollywood Studios (Rockin’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror).  Tower of Terror has impeccable theming but because I get sick on drop rides, my favorite attraction here is Rockin’ Roller Coaster!  The launch of this ride is so fun!  Dining here is limited, but you can find your typical theme park food… My favorite in this area is the Trolly Car Cafe’  (AKA Starbucks! … noticing a theme here? lol) it is actually on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard.

Echo Lake/Animation Courtyard areas are the home to the new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which I have yet to ride (Review coming in June!)  I am thinking this will be my favorite attraction, but until it can prove itself, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! Is my favorite!  It is a great experience to see some cool stunts and how movies are filmed.  You may even be chosen as an “extra” (hot tip..make yourself stand out when they are looking for extras…dance around, act goofy… whatever to catch their attention)   Favorite Dining in this area is 50’s Prime Time Cafe.  This dining experience takes you back to ‘50s kitsch and boasts fun theming of that era.  Make sure to take your hat off at the table or you may be forced to stand in the corner. 🙂

Toy Story Land (and Pixar Place) is so immersive and amazing in and of itself.  Just walking through this area is fun.  Favorite attraction here is Toy Story Mania.  Much like Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin over at Magic Kingdom, my competitiveness makes this ride really fun for me.  It is an interactive 3D carnival game ride!  I could ride this several times in a day if I had fastpasses…:(   Food at Woody’s Lunch Box is pretty good!  I like the Lunch Box Tarts (which are their version of poptarts)  and the  Breakfast Bowl (loaded tater tots!)

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge….what can I say but “wow”.  It is my favorite area of the entire park.  Within this area, my favorite ride is Rise of the Resistance.  I can’t even describe how awesome this ride is!  Do whatever you can to experience this while you are there.  Whatever it takes….   And you HAVE to try a Ronto Wrap at Ronto Roasters.  It is very very good!

Grand Avenue and Commissary Lane hosts a couple attractions.  Star Tours is my favorite, but somehow I feel like that should be wrapped into Galaxy’s Edge somehow.  Which leaves Muppet*Vision 3D which is a fun experience.  Favorite Dining here is  Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant.  I just love the atmosphere of this restaurant.  It is so fun.  The food isn’t anything to write home about, but the milkshakes are fantastic!
